Gappeq is a one-man dark psytrance project of Jiri Tomasek from Prague, Czechia.
At the age of 10 he started playing the guitar, later learning keyboards, percussions, clarinet, jew-harp, didgeridoo and other instruments. After exploring creation of all sorts of electronic musical styles and playing years at local bands he fell in love with psytrance at 2001 and immediately started making his own. First releases were on Portuguese label Ketuh Records and after moving to Australia and studying audio engineering at SAE he released a debut album Speaker Seeker at Wirikuta Recordings. Moving back to Prague and building his studio, he continued developing his cinematic style and started releasing on Parvati Records which has been his home label ever since. Gappeq released his second full-length album Made Of Clay on Parvati and continued writing his signature style dark cinematic tracks also for many other labels: Illuminati, Vertigo, Nabi, Omveda, Skygravity, Zaikadelic, Bhooteshwara, Sonic Chakras, Surface Tension, Funky Freaks, Moon Koradji and others. His mission has been to keep bringing new and fresh psychedelic experience onto the dancefloor. Creativity, experiment and weird ideas come forth in his tracks, never to be shadowed by easy and simple formulas and techniques heard million times before. He has played at parties and festivals all over the world.
The year 2026 will mark 25 years of Gappeq on the scene and he is preparing another genre-bending album to celebrate that.
